Allied

Lead Compositor | ATOMIC FICTION

Nov 2016

Allied was an ambitious show with a short time frame.

I was given creative and technical ownership of a very difficult sequence on the show.

Where would two spies make out? Inside a car in the middle of a sandstorm of course.

Sandstorm

This sequence was shot on a stage lit by led screens. Because of the camera movement, many shots had only the seats and the actors. Due to the lack of greenscreen, the woman’s hair was particularly difficult. A huge amount of excruciating paint work was required to make the shots presentable. The FX simulations of the exterior sand blowing across the surface of the car was undertaking. On the comp side there was a large amount lighting choreography to make it appear as though the sandstorm was getting more intense through the sequence.
